A note from Bobby
Thanks for wanting to bring your clients to China with us. This is one page, and it's mostly our promises to you, in writing: your 18% commission and when it's paid, and the fact that your clients stay yours. Sign it once before your first booking and you're set.
Bobby Robbins, Founder, Harmony Bridge Travel
The short version
What we promise you
- 18% commission on the trip price, about $833 per traveler on Forbidden City to Jade Dragon.
- Paid fast. Within 14 days of your client's final payment (once departure is less than 60 days away), to your host agency if you're with one.
- Never taken back. Once your commission is paid, it's yours, even if your client cancels later.
- Your clients stay yours. We never market to them. If one contacts us directly, we send them back to you and you're paid on the booking.
- You stay in the loop. We copy you on every message to your clients.
- Departures that go. Our guaranteed departures run with just 2 travelers. If we ever cancel one, your clients get every dollar back.
- A free place for groups. One free place for every 10 paying travelers on a group booked at least 6 months out.
- No strings. No minimums, no exclusivity, no fees.
What we ask of you
- Book through your host agency, or your own IATA, CLIA or TRUE number, so we can pay you.
- Send us a W-9 for whoever we pay (your host agency, or you) before your first commission.
- Make sure your clients see our booking terms, and encourage travel insurance.
- Tell us right away if anything goes wrong on a trip.
The full terms below say the same things in more detail.
The full terms
1. What this covers
You may book your clients on Harmony Bridge trips at our published prices and earn commission: guaranteed departures, private journeys and group programs, plus any extensions we quote. It is not exclusive.
2. Your commission
- You earn 18% of the trip price your client pays us, including any single supplement and extra nights we arrange. No commission is due on money we refund.
- We pay within 14 days of your client's final payment, or within 14 days of the date 60 days before departure if they paid in full earlier. Payment goes by bank transfer to your host agency (or to you, if you book under your own number), with a statement showing the booking and the amount.
- Before the first payment, we need a W-9 from whoever we pay. We can't release a commission until we have it.
- Once paid, your commission is never taken back, even if your client cancels later.
- If your client cancels and their payments become a credit, you keep any commission already paid, and you earn commission on anything new they pay when they use the credit. If we hadn't paid you yet, we pay your commission when the credit is used on a trip.
3. Your clients stay yours
- We will not market to your clients or ask them to book with us directly, during the trip or after it.
- If one of your clients contacts us directly, we send them back to you, and you're paid commission on any booking that follows.
- This lasts for 24 months after each client's last trip with us.
4. How bookings work
- Send us your client's dates and group size and we reply within 24 hours.
- Your client signs our booking terms and pays us directly. We name you as their advisor on the booking and copy you on everything we send them.
- Deposit: 25% of the trip price, with a minimum of $500 per traveler. Balance: due 60 days before departure.
- Cancellations, changes and refunds follow our booking terms, which your client accepts when they book.
5. Free places for groups
One free place for every 10 paying travelers on a group booked at least 6 months before departure. Free places are land only and twin share, with any single supplement charged, and can't be combined with other discounts. No commission is due on a free place.
6. Marketing our trips
Use our itineraries, photos and trip notes to sell our trips. Keep the prices, inclusions, pace, health and safety information accurate. Our photos and text stay ours.
7. What we do
- Arrange every service through licensed Chinese inbound operators, with licensed English-speaking guides.
- Look after your clients in person while they travel, with a contact available 24 hours a day.
- Tell you promptly about anything that affects your clients' trip.
8. What you do
- Make sure your clients see our booking terms before they book, and encourage travel insurance with medical and evacuation cover.
- Send us a W-9 for whoever we pay before your first commission, and a new one if those details change.
- Hold any seller of travel registrations your state requires.
- Tell us right away about any problem during a trip so we can fix it.
9. Responsibility
Each of us is responsible for our own acts and omissions and those of our staff. We are responsible for arranging your clients' trips with care. Hotels, airlines, railways and attractions are independent businesses, and we are not responsible for their own acts or omissions. Neither of us is liable to the other for indirect losses, such as lost profits.
10. How long this lasts
This agreement continues until either of us ends it with 30 days' written notice. We still pay commission on every booking made before then. If we update these terms, we give you 30 days' notice by email, and bookings already made keep the terms they were made under.
11. Disagreements and law
If we disagree about anything, we'll talk first and try to sort it out within 30 days. If we can't, either of us may take it to the courts in Montgomery County, Texas. Texas law governs this agreement.
12. Signing
This is the whole agreement between us about your commission and client protection. We each agree to sign electronically. Typing your name and ticking "I agree" has the same effect as a handwritten signature, and we email you a copy straight away.
