Harmony Bridge is a signatory of The Code, the travel industry's commitment to protect children from sexual exploitation, led by ECPAT International. In 2026 The Code named us a Top Member. Children in the communities we visit deserve the same safety we want for our own, and travelers can help.
What we do
- A written policy. Every member of our team, in the U.S. and in China, follows this policy and knows what to do if something seems wrong.
- Training. Our staff and guides are trained to spot and report risks, using materials we helped prepare in Simplified Chinese.
- Our partners agree too. Contracts with our inbound operators and suppliers include a child protection clause.
- Travelers are informed. We share this guidance before every trip.
- We report every year. We report our progress to The Code each year.
How travelers can help
- Ask before you photograph a child, and ask a parent or guardian. Please don't share photos of children in vulnerable situations or with their location.
- Skip orphanage visits and volunteering with children. Short visits can harm children who need stable relationships. We don't include them, and we can suggest better ways to help.
- Give to programs, not to children directly. Money or gifts handed to children can keep them out of school. Your guide can suggest a community program instead.
- Speak up. If something about a child's safety worries you, tell your guide or us right away. You don't need to be sure.
How to report a concern
- During your trip: tell your guide or call Bobby at +1 (281) 790-4015. In an emergency in China, call the police on 110.
- From the U.S. or anywhere: report online to the NCMEC CyberTipline or call 1-800-843-5678.
- Any time: write to bobby@harmonybridgetravel.com. Every report is taken seriously and handled confidentially.
